When we bought Wavecrest back in June 2016, the café was looking very tired & unloved. With the café being located at the iconic Lizard Point with so much heritage & history, we were very keen to restore it to its former glory to be enjoyed for future generations to come.
We used a local joinery firm to craft beautiful replica wood sash windows & a new verandah, the front & side terraces were replaced with slate & the building clad with weathered boards. The old timber floor was found under the old lino and (painstakingly!) stripped back ready for fresh varnish.
